Humble Beginnings to New Dumb Ideas

Humble Beginnings to New Dumb Ideas

Like many Americans, Lefty was born to a poor, but very close family of donkeys in southwest New Mexico. His mother, Jenny Burr O., grew up in a tiny town on the Mexican border and worked most of her years as a herding animal on a farm before immigrating to America. Lefty's father, Jack, came from a long line of pack mules in the Old West gold mines during the mining rush of the nineteenth century. Jack was intimately familiar with manual labor as he toiled as a cog in the wheel, spinning wheels at a grist mill in western California!

Wanting the very best for their foal, Jenny and Jack worked extra hours as riding mules and even as guard animals on the local ranches in order to fund Lefty's education. This experience led Lefty to hold education in the highest regard, and he often held after-school riding and behavioral management classes, to harness and refine the stubborn behavior of his young peers.

Tapping into his roots of hard work and loyalty, Lefty worked his way westward across New Mexico to Arizona to serve in the highly popular role as a touring mule at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. In this role, Lefty learned to the value of protecting the environmental and the many natural wonders of the world and led him on a road to becoming a major proponent of conservationism.

Upon meeting his future wife, Colombia (named after Christopher Columbus, who first brought the donkeys to America), Lefty made the decision to move to Washington, DC to be with her and started a career as a lobbyist for animal rights shortly thereafter. The highly energized and political environment left the young foal yearning for action and soon, he ran for and was elected Director of the Organization to Take Our Whitehouse (TOW). He later took a position as CEO of Beltway Burros, Inc, a large consulting firm specializing in political campaigns for donkeys across the nation.

After serving for 10 years in the non-profit role, with an active role in local and national politics, Lefty is ready to help America take the next step forward. His home-grown values, instilled by hardworking parents, his passion for the environment, his local and national network and his role as a strong and decisive leader make Lefty the candidate to Pull America Forward.

Won,t you help Lefty with his next chapter, and yours?
